Davis at 2 months
Davis now at almost 2 years (that's a bruise on his nose)
I am trying not to make this a mushy post but I was looking back through some of Davis's baby pictures and they made me sooo sad, that I actually teared up. You don't realize how fast they grow up until you look back on pictures and remember how small they once were. He is getting so big and growing up so fast that I feel like everyday he is getting bigger and bigger, which is not a bad thing, but a sad thing for me as a mom to face. I realize that he is only almost 2 which is still very young, but I really feel like it was just yesterday that Davis joined our family. I miss him as a baby, he was such a sweet baby and still has that same sweet personality. But at the same time I love him at the age he is at as well.
Yesterday, my friend Dawnelle has talking about the Trace Adkins song "you're gonna miss this" and it is exactly how I feel. You miss them when they are small and cuddly and just like the song says you're gonna miss this and you are gonna want this back. I already miss Davis as a baby and I already want the time back.....We love you Davis!!
And thanks a lot Dawnelle for making me into a sobbing baby

He doesn't look a thing like his "little baby" photos. He is so cute!! I know what you mean, they grow up too fast. I actually did the same thing you did last week. I got caught up looking at photos on our computer and I realized how big Ali's getting. It it sad isn't it? It's okay to cry, I do.
I'm going to my nephew's graduation tonight and all I've been thinking about today is what a sweet baby and child he was growing up. My mom and I kept him during the day all those years while my sister worked and I miss that time. I know I'm going to be crying tonight and he is only my nephew. I can only imagine what Mothers go through, I'm sure my sister will be bawling!
I'm just glad I'm not the only sap! I find that the last two days I have spent more time holding and staring at Ellie and playing with Carter and not always trying to get five minutes more sleep because every time I blink they both look older. It feels like tomorrow Carter will be asking me to teach him to drive and fill out mission papers (aren't those two years going to be SOO hard)! And maybe I'm nuts but I totally think Davis' face looks a lot like his baby picture. We're just sappy, over protective and lovingly good mom's!
Thanks I'm all misty eyed now!! I know EXACTLY how you feel! Babies grow up way to fast sooner than you now it there are going to be bratty teenagers that hate us...*sighs* at least I hope not....By the way Davis's chubby cheeks are ADORABLE!!
I totally did this with Sydney's pictures this week!!! We are all just mushy moms. That's what makes mom's so great, right? :)
So so so true! I love this quote by President Monson:
"Send that note to the friend you've been neglecting; give your child a compliment and a hug; say 'I love you' more; always express your thanks. Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved. Friends move away, children grow up, loved ones pass on. It's so easy to take others for granted, until that day when they're gone from our lives and we are left with feelings of 'what if' and 'if only'...Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey and share our love with friends and family. One day, each of us will run out of tomorrows. Let us not put off what is most important."
Find joy in the journey and appreciate every moment! It does go WAY too fast.
I know and its even harder to watch old videos. I have a video of Dallen when he was a newborn sleeping and I just bawled watching it.
I am getting so baby hungry. And it pretty much went into full force when I saw Elise last sunday at church. Love those newborns!
