At least that's what Davis would say. Cole Philip Bettes was born 12/29/2008, a birthday now shared with his cousin! He was born at 3:15PM and weighed in at 7 pounds 13 ounces and measured 21 1/2 inches long. He has a head full of dark hair. Not really what we expected but we love it. Here are a few pictures.

Nursery Pics....
As many of you know we will be going to the hospital sometime tomorrow to start the induction process but I won't be induced until Monday morning. So, tonight we have been doing some cleaning and we were putting up some finishing touches on the nursery. We snapped some quick pictures of the nursery for all to see. I have to say that out of all the stress and worry of putting together a nursery I am pleased with how it turned out. Tonight will be our last night with one child so I guess I need to make it an early night....oops..too late for that. I am sure that our next post will be the arrival of Cole!!! So, stay tuned.....if you love us!!!

Changing table....this is where you will find Nick at a lot!
Even though he thinks he will be here!
Some more sweat and tears!!
Sorry, I had to post this picture of Davis because he had to take some pictures of the room too!!

Eat it or Flick it!!
Every parent is probably concerned at some point by their kid eating their boogers. I remember as a kid sitting in church and watching little kids pick their nose and then stick their finger in their mouth. I would elbow my brother or someone and get them to watch the kid as well. We'd have a good laugh. Well I can admit I'm still guilty of that today. So if I catch your kids eating his/her boogers, I'm probably laughing a bit. The problem here is, I'm making it more likely that I'll have a kid that will eat his boogers!
The solution to our problem just sort of happened, b/c believe me, everyone has to pick their boogers or else we would have a nose full of them and Davis is no exception to this. He picks his nose. We try hard to make it seem like it's no big deal when he does it. The few times we were grossed out he started laughing and trying to wipe it on you or stick his finger back in his nose. After riding around with Jessie he has started to copy what she does. She rolls the window down and flicks her boogers out the window. Actually, I'm just kidding. Jess got a booger out of Davis' nose that was huge a few nights ago and she didn't have any wipes. I suggested to throw it out the window. So we rolled the window down and she flicked it out. Well last night Davis started to ask us to roll the window down b/c he had a booger on his finger. We roll it down and he starts trying to flick it. We guess he got it off after several attempts and he seemed pretty content with flicking. He did it one more time before we made it home. So now we all have an option, you can either let your kid dispose of the booger themself or you can teach them how to flick it!! We choose flick it!

Expired Milk!!!

We were at Walmart today doing a little shopping. Nick goes and picks up a gallon of milk looks at the expiration date and then shows me the date with a smile on his face. My eyes pop out of my head and I soon realize that December 29th must be around the corner if it is the expiration date on a milk jug. I due the calculation in my head real fast that is in 11 days!! I have a quick moment where I truly think I am in paradise and then I suddenly have to pee AGAIN and my wonderful thought popped like a bubble and disappeared all to quickly.
So, you may be wondering why this date is so important...well, I went to the doctor today and they set a date for me to be induced on....drum roll....please.....yep the 29th!!! Unless, of course I go into labor on my own but come on with the baby still being in Toledo and nothing happening down in that general area I think my chances are pretty slim. The doctor originally talked about inducing me on the 31st but today he looked at me and started laughing after he measured me and then replies "You are still growing". Really, you think....doc. Basically in a nut shell he is being nice to me and not wanting this baby to get to much larger then he already is. Thank goodness for me!!!
So, I did see a light at the end of the tunnel tonight when I saw December 29th expiration date on a milk jug.....YIPPEEE!!!!
Yes, we do realize that this is our niece Kinley's birthday along with our nephew James' too. So, the date is claimed on both sides of the family already but when we called to tell them the news I was relieved to hear "AWESOME".

Just trying to help
So I'm driving home from work yesterday talking on the cell phone and really just glad to be done for the day. Perhaps I'm even looking forward to playing my new PS3 game MotoStorm: Pacific Rift. As I round a corner two little Mexican women are trying to wave people down. They didn't look like they were carrying any weapons so I pull over. I hang up the phone get out and they were able to communicate enough to tell me they were out of gas. So one lady hops into the car with me and we go find a gas station. Along with purchasing the gas she had to purchase a new gas can. So trying to be helpful I pump the gas for her. Gas isn't pumping so the guy comes out and tells me what I'm doing wrong. We then head back to her car to get it running again. As we get there I try to remove the cap of the nozel before I actually connect it to the can (you have to visualize all of this) and for some reason I can't pull off the stinking cap!! The thing was on there good! So I then attempt to the read the directions and I see the word squeeze. I then squeeze the size of the caps and still can't do it. Some of the little Mexican women ask to see and she simply squeezes and turns the cap and it comes right off. I take the spout back from her and try to connect to the can. It obvioiusly was not fitting. I took a look at the cap and it looked to me like it had no way of connecting the spout to the can so I threw it to the side. So again the little Mexican lady takes the spout, cap and can from me and figures out that cap does indeed have a little lid that pops up that allows the spout to fit snuggly in a hole and then you screw the cap back on. So.....that's like 3 for 3 of me not knowing what I'm doing. I'm sure they felt sorry for my wife b/c I simply couldn't do any of the things I should know how to do. All I'm good for is driving!!! They pretty much did everything else. But before I left they told me that they clean up houses in the area and that they would love to clean up our house for free. Not sure I deserve but I took their number down anyway. I guess the question now is, if I accept their offer, does that negate the good that I did for them? Which happens to be limited to the time it took the time to drive them and the laugh that I gave them from not knowing how to operating a gas pump or a gas can!!!

Oh Shoot......Family Shoot!!!
We went out today in the freezing cold and took some family pictures for Christmas. Which probably wasn't the best idea since Davis and I are both sick with colds and I think that we just made ourselves worse.
I have to tell you that I wasn't too excited about being in the photos because of my "roundness". And I also wasn't sure if Davis was going to cooperate with taking pictures but suprisingly he did great and looks the best in all of them. He is at the stage where he loves to say "cheese" just look at his smile with the black and white one up top....too cute!!!
But, these pictures will probably be the last pictures of us before the new baby arrives....YAY!!!
Anyway, I am very pleased with how they turned out and I thought that I would share some of my favorites with you.

Baby Steals!!
Okay...so our friend Angie introduced us to this website Baby Steals. It is a great website, every day at 9 am MST they post a new item that is for sell for a steal. Some of the items sell out very quickly within just a few hours of the day. I have to admit I check out the website occasionally but it is something that I don't check out daily. Well, today I was on the phone with Nick and I hear him say "Yes 11:00". I totally was not paying attention to what he was doing until he said "Hey, go to the baby steals website and check out these shoes". So, I did still not really thinking much about it. I am looking at these cool shoes and Nick is saying "should we buy them". Then I finally realize that Nick goes and checks out this website everyday at 11am to see what the baby steal is. I start laughing and ask him if he checks out this website everyday at 11 and he replies and says "it is an awesome website". I also tell him that he is as bad as Angie and is getting sucked into this website....(sorry to call you out Angie... you know I LOVE you!!)
I really am not making fun of him, well.....maybe just a little bit. I think that it is AWESOME that my husband loves this baby website so much because he bought me this awesome diaper bag a couple of days ago from this site and I am very excited to be getting it in the mail. I won't tell you what we bought it for because it was a steal and you will be jealous.....well only those of you that have to tote around your whole house and except for you Angie because you already have it!!
