Fitting inside the box!

I have a lot of these cube bins that you can buy at Target. Some are in Davis's and Cole's room, the playroom, the closet, they are everywhere throughout our house. I mainly use them to store toys. I LOVE these bins. I feel somewhat organized with them so it seems like I keep buying them here and there and so over time I have accomplished to get a collection of them. Anyway, I have some sitting next to the cradle in our bedroom. I store diapers, wipes, burp cloths you know the typical baby stuff in them. But, I had no idea that I could store my children in them until now!!!! Good to know!

Working out bites the dust!!

Who here thinks that working out stinks and would rather crawl back into your nice comfy bed, RAISE your hand!!! Ohh....me......yep...me right here!!!

Who here thinks that people getting up at 6:30 in the morning to exercise are CRAZY....let me just add before their children wake up even, RAISE your hand!!! Ohh...me again!!

Who here thinks that when you are sooooo sore that you can't even sit on the toliet to pee you shouldn't workout anymore, RAISE your hand......ohhh....over here....I think so!!!

These are most of my thoughts this week and that is what I have been up to!

1, 2, 3, 4

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything so I thought I'd get on here and add a quick note and a song to the playlist.

Jess had a dentist appointment today which left me with watching Cole while at work and Davis was at our friend Dawnelle's house. I got a bit nervous he would start crying so I took him out to the car and sat out there and played with him for a bit. I had the radio on and this Plain White T's song came on. I don't think it's even close to the "Delila" song but I still liked it. A simple song to convey a strong feeling. So while I listened to it I thought it would be a great song to add to the blog and dedicate it to Jessie! SO Jessie.....make sure you turn the volume on so you can hear it! We're going to slow this one down a bit! Hopefully this post will help me get some extra tv or free time in!! Just kidding, but really....I hope it does. Just kidding....

Have you ever seen so much hair!

Cole has so much hair that it is hard to believe that a baby could be born with this much. When my mom told me that I had that much hair as a baby I didn't believe it until I saw the pictures myself. The most impressive part about it was my hair never fell out so I am very curious if his will, which it hasn't yet. But, what people don't know is that it really is a pain to deal with. My mom finds it very funny that I complain about it because my hair was the same way. I have to constantly wet and brush his hair to get it to lay down which doesn't work because once it is dry it just sticks straight back up. Plus when he sleeps on it and wakes up it is sticking up all over the place anyway. The only way you can get it to lay down is if it gets oily which it usually does by the end of the day. The problem that I have is that I hate it when it looks oily, I like it when it is clean looking. So, in order to keep it clean looking I have to wash it every day and once it is washed it goes right back to sticking straight up. Anyway, what I am trying to get at is that I have no idea what to do with his hair. I mean what can you do besides just let his hair look crazy all the time. He looks like he needs a hair cut but I am not going to cut a 10 week old babies hair and I don't even know if there is a place that would! Who would have thought that I would have a baby with such high maintenance hair or would have thought that he would have a mother that is so particular about his hair! I just never expected to be dealing with the hair thing until he was older. If he was a girl it wouldn't be so bad because you could put all sorts of cute bows and clips in it. But there isn't much that you can do with a boy. Knowing my luck we will have a girl and she will be bald as can be because Cole stole all the hair!
I guess he just knew that the new hair style that guys are wearing these days is longer hair and so he wanted to come out "in style".

Blessed Choo Choo Train!

Today Davis and I were sitting down about ready to eat lunch and this is the conversation.

Me: Who is going to say the prayer?

Davis: I do!

Me: Okay, go ahead

Davis: Heavenly Fader, (gibbersih words) food, (more gibberish words) day, (some more gibberish words) mommy, daddy, Cole, choo choo train. Cheezes Qrist, Amen.

Me: Good prayer, Davis!

Our son was named after our other son....

Okay...THANKS to those that left comments on who you thought our kids look like. I would have to say overall they must have a good mix of both Nick and I, which makes me feel a little better since all that I hear all the time is how much they look like Nick!!

Any who.....on to more important topics. I just have to say that I have not written about this earlier because Nick did not want me to. It is a story that I will probably never forget. This is something that I think you guys will thoroughly enjoy. Which I one day hope that my children will read about this and get a good laugh out of what their father did.

You are probably wondering what in the world is up with this title. Well...it means exactly what is says. Cole (our son) was named after our other son (Davis), meaning Cole's full legal name is Cole Philip Davis. Yep....TRUE story!! We got Cole's birth certificate confirmation letter in the mail that Nick had filled out while we were in the hospital and Nick legally named our son Cole Philip Davis!! I wonder how many fathers name their son after their other son!
.
We had the option of changing his name right away which would take anywhere from 6-12 weeks to get his name changed but that could of put us over the deadline to file our taxes. So we had to wait and file our taxes with his name being Cole Philip Davis and now that we have our tax return we can finally change Cole's name, to officially being a Bettes, his real name!!
Poor Nick......but isn't that Hi-larious???

You tell us...

Okay, it is always a mystery when it comes to looking at my children and telling who they look like. I have never really been good at looking at babies and saying "they look just like their father". I have been told by many that Davis looks just like Nick and now I hear the same with Cole. I was in a grocery store when Davis was about a year old and the cashier was staring at me and then looking back at Davis and then looking at me and then looking at Davis and I was thinking the whole time what is this lady's problem. Then she felt a need to tell me "he must look like his daddy" (picture it with a thick southern accent) and I was like great lady thanks for sharing that with me....you just made my day by telling me that my baby looks nothing like me! Instead I nicely reply "I hear that a lot". Which I am fine with my kids looking like Nick but at the same time it would be nice to have some credit of my children, I mean I did carry them around for 9 months! Here is Nick's brilliant theory on the whole what kids looks like who, "it is a good thing that they come out looking like their dads that way we know they are yours".

Well, the funny thing is my family thinks Davis looks just like Nick and they are claiming pretty hard that Cole looks like me. As Nick's family goes they think both Davis and Cole look like him. So, we are going to put it to the test. My mom emailed me some baby pictures and we got some baby photos of Nick and we are going to do a comparison of Davis, Cole, Nick and I. Who does Davis and Cole look like?? I am very curious to hear what you guys will say so please tell us.... don't be shy!

Cole

Davis

Jessie... yes I was born with dark hair and it turned blond when I was 2.
Here is the proof that I turned blond but don't make fun of my mullet!

Nick...sorry I only have 2 baby pics of Nick

Circus....

Okay...so I am pretty behind on some posts here. Life with 2 small kids = little computer time these days! Plus, I thought that Nick would do this post but he is slacking!

2 weeks ago we went to the Barnum and Bailey circus that came to ATL with our friends David and Gina and their 2 little ones. It was a blast!! The show was awesome and Davis loved it and sat quietly the whole 2 1/2 hours. He was mesmerized the entire time which was nice because we were able to enjoyed it just as much as he was. Nick and I both have never been to a circus so it was really a lot of fun to go. Cole slept the first half and woke up at intermission and fussed through a good part of the second half but it was pretty loud in there that I don't think anyone could really hear him.

The whole circus life to me is pretty interesting and to see these people doing these stunts/performances was unbelievable. If you have never been to a circus and if Barnum and Bailey's comes to your town you NEED to go. You would love it and will not be disappointed!!

But by going to circus I have learned that there is a lot of things that I don't want my sons ever to attempt. Like hanging and walking across upside down with just your feet and only have a mat to catch him or being in a steel cage ball with 7 other motorcycles going round and a round super fast. (pictures below) Can you imagine one of those people being your kid?? Some of those people I think are just NUTS! Davis' loved the motorcycles (oh...great) and he loved the elephants, actually all the animals/the whole show he LOVED!!! This show is CRAZY!! Here are a few pictures.
