Alabama Neighbors!!

I am mortified.....my neighbor stopped by today and asked to use our phone because she locked herself out of her house while she was walking her dog. I was so embarrassed that my house was not only a MESS but DISGUSTING!!! I did not want to let her in and it took everything I had not to just say "hold on let me bring you the phone". But, I have only talked and met the lady once before so I was nice and let her in, but I should have just grabbed the phone to save the embarrassment for myself!! The whole time I was apologizing for the mess and saying we just got back into town and trying to explain. As we were making conversation I was trying to act normal and not just stare at all of the dishes piled in the sink and the old crusted last night dinner still sitting on the stove, along with old left overs that were sitting next to the sink waiting to be thrown away but I couldn't throw them away due to the overflowing garbage that should have been taken out a couple of days ago ....I know GROSS!!! Not to mention all the stuff that was just thrown on top of the table and counters...it was never ending grossness that filled my kitchen.... all the while hoping that she wouldn't notice....yeah right!!! As I was walking her out I was staring at our foyer that had tape and putty all over the walls because we are right in the middle of painting. As we opened the door the mess continued..... I noticed our front yard that looks like a jungle and if Davis went out in the yard we wouldn't even be able to find him and hold on it gets worse and sitting on our front porch is a Diaper Champ that has been sitting there for like a month!! And the sad part is I don't even know how it got there.... a diaper champ?...come on!! I usually am pretty good at keeping up with the house very rare will I let it go....but the times that I do is when people want to stop by....just my luck!! I feel like my neighbor thinks that I am the laziest stay at home mom!! I guess we will see if she was mortified as well if she ever talks to me again. She probably thinks that we need to move back to Alabama....I think that next time I just will save myself the embarrassment and not answer the door!!! Please, someone tell me that I am not the only one that is like this. Since, my neighbor saw my house like this I thought that I would share it with you guys as well....ENJOY our GROSSNESS!!

Ok Jessie, I'm backing you up because your house always looks very nice and clean whenever we come and visit! Thanks for posting those pictures though, it's nice to see your house almost as messy as mine at least once.

Isn't that funny that no one drops by after you have deep cleaned your place, but always when it is in disarray?! Oh, that doggone Murphy's Law!

Love it! That is my house on most days, especially spring break week with all kids at home all day. Any really it makes me a smile to know that other people don't always have a spotless house, it makes me feel so much better.

I feel so much better...I always feel like my house is such a wreck b/c Addyson follows me around when I try to pick up and makes a mess twice or three times as big. I'm so embarassed to have "drop-ins".
