So ok….I’ve had a Playstation 3 now since July of last year. Some people may consider a 29 year old playing video games as a bit sad. If you think that then I would have to say that at times, I may agree with you. But that’s only if I’m playing Mario Kart or Donkey Kong and I’m using the Pink Princess as my character. Only in extreme cases like this would I agree with you. In all other cases it is far from sad. Especially when you’re jamming out on a Fender Stratocaster (I had to google what guitar is used) to a Bon Jovi song with your wife screaming out the vocals and your son tearing it up on the drums. Does that sound sad?? Didn’t think so.

The only problem so far with having a Playstation 3 is I can’t use all the features that is has due to not knowing anyone else that has one!! So this is my plea, go buy one and then we can do all sorts of stuff. Play a game of basketball, football, etc. Or even see who plays a meaner guitar. You can also do video chat and I’m sure other stuff. There’s also a game out right now that’s called Gran Turismo 5: The Prologue. It’s a $40 demo but it has a ton of cars and multiple tracks so it’s supposedly worth it. But we could even race against each other. Check out the graphics, 1080p and 60 FPS (Frames per second. From what I’m told this is awesome)!

I’m telling you, a PS3 is definitely a smart purchase. Now that Blu-Ray has beat out the HD format (Toshiba – sorry John, you lost!) in the High Definition DVD war, you might as well buy one! You can enjoy some good family fun and enjoy awesome High Def movie experiences all in the comfort of your home.
I’m telling you, you will not be sorry! Just to let you know, I’ve only covered like 1% of what the PS3 offers but Jessie tells me my posts are too long and that no one wants to read them b/c they get bored. I don’t see how this is possible.
Also, if you live close enough, this is an open invitation to come have a jam night over at our house. Just leave a comment and let us know if you’re interested! Also have a few other games if you Rock Band doesn’t interest you: Call of Duty 4, NBA Live ’07, Tiger Woods Golf ’07, Sonic the Hedgehog, Uncharted Drake’s Fortune, and Resistance: Fall of Man. Just say the word and we’ll make some plans!

So, what would you say to my husband, for example, that is dying forto get the Wii? I have been watching for "a steal" for one, but...could you compare the two?
Okay, my typing was awful but you know what I mean...
Yes. We have both but we never play the wii!! When we first got it, the Wii was a blast. But you quickly learn that the exagerated movements are not needed. Once that happens you feel stupid swinging the remote like you're really hitting a tennis ball when you know you don't need to. We don't have any real sport games so that they make a huge difference? We have the little cartoon games which are fun with groups but still, I would rather play the PS3! Much better graphics and you can do a lot of other cool stuff. You can have songs, videos, photos, etc stored on the hard drive. You can do video chat if you have a camera that hooks up to it, we don't have one. You can get the Internet, download games, demos, etc. And you are always downloading updates. The graphics really are amazing. But....the thing to keep in mind is you have kids that are approaching an age that they can play games. they may prefer the Wii. Davis can't even play and he loved it. One of the first words he could say was Wii. But since we never play anymore he sticks to playing the drums on rock band. He thinks he controls the game by hitting the drum pads.
I love Nick's posts!
Thanks Rachel!! I take offense to that :)
We LOVE rockband! And I have to say we love Dead or Alive! Rock Out!! But we have it on Xbox 360.
I know Nick, I need to get a PS3. It is in the works...I just need to save a little coin. Also, I would have agree with Nick that the PS3 is better then the Wii, but the Wii is better for groups and the girls seem to like it more. Angie was the one that wanted to get the Wii in our family. It was pretty funny when we first got it home, we were swinging like we were really playing tennis. I woke up the next day with tennis elbow.
Chad by the way wants to be your new best friend. He loves playing video games. and he really wants a PS3... we are very close to getting one. oh and we want to come over to play rock band at your house.
I'll for sure be up to play Rock Band!! I have Guitar Hero on PS2 but I get kind of bored just playing it by myself so I will definitly be up there to play!
I want to come over and see the Bettes family version of Bon Jovi, that would be very entertaining. We would love to come over and ROCK with you all. I can just see Nick and Ross getting crazy!!!
My husband, Travis, would LOVE one. He's 32 and loves video games, so for a 29 year old, it's not sad at all. I thought it was a little weird when we got married 6 years ago that he loved his PS2, but that's b/c I never was a videogame gal, but he would love it and I would love a Wii...yes, I said it...I would LOVE a video game console! And I'm a 32 year old girl!!
I still say, if you want a Wii or a PS3, or even an xbox 360 you should get one. You don't have to play it everyday in my opinion to get your money's worth. We play maybe once a week now that we've had it a while. It's fun to just have in case you don't have anything else to do or if it's the weekend and it's raining or you have company over. It's totally worth it. And only get two if your kids favor one that is different than the one you like.
Funny post Nick! Rockband is awesome! Everytime we are in BestBuy and I see the display I always want to get it! I guess the wii will have to do for now. I still really like it, but we never have time to play. I love wii tennis . . . whoop! Oh, and all the guys I used to work with were older than us and they all play video games!
