Circus....
Okay...so I am pretty behind on some posts here. Life with 2 small kids = little computer time these days! Plus, I thought that Nick would do this post but he is slacking!
2 weeks ago we went to the Barnum and Bailey circus that came to ATL with our friends David and Gina and their 2 little ones. It was a blast!! The show was awesome and Davis loved it and sat quietly the whole 2 1/2 hours. He was mesmerized the entire time which was nice because we were able to enjoyed it just as much as he was. Nick and I both have never been to a circus so it was really a lot of fun to go. Cole slept the first half and woke up at intermission and fussed through a good part of the second half but it was pretty loud in there that I don't think anyone could really hear him.
But by going to circus I have learned that there is a lot of things that I don't want my sons ever to attempt. Like hanging and walking across upside down with just your feet and only have a mat to catch him or being in a steel cage ball with 7 other motorcycles going round and a round super fast. (pictures below) Can you imagine one of those people being your kid?? Some of those people I think are just NUTS! Davis' loved the motorcycles (oh...great) and he loved the elephants, actually all the animals/the whole show he LOVED!!! This show is CRAZY!! Here are a few pictures.

That Beautiful Smile...
Out of all the sleepless nights, the crying, the diaper changing, the feeding, the constant guessing and trying to figure out what this baby needs or wants. I mean I wish that I was a baby whisperer because if I was I would have a bunch of them. But unfortunately I was not blessed with this skill and I do things that just get me through the day ALIVE!
We are fortunate now to have a reward each day for our hard work......take a look for yourself!!

Yep...it is official we have to keep him!!
The day before his blessing Cole never went number 2 and I was so paranoid that Cole was going to have an explosion once Nick started the blessing with the microphone there to carry the sound and it would mess up his blessing outfit. But, he exploded right after the blessing and I mean right after Nick sat down....PHEW!!!... That was a close one and it didn't mess up the outfit either or else that would kinda of be mean of me to keep him in it all afternoon....LOL!!!!
The family came over to our house afterwards and we were popping at the seams with everyone crammed into our house but it was a great lunch with some yummy food. How fortunate we are to have so many people that live close by that love and support our family. It ended up being a very wonderful and memorable day for our family.

Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero
I know the title is a little cheesy but I am simply amazed at how well Davis has adapted to being a big brother. He has been so very patient with baby Cole and loves him imensely. Balancing two kids is definelty a lot harder than I imagined but Davis has made things so much easier on me. He always wants to hold Cole and gives him a million kisses everyday. He is always so concerned when Cole is crying and tells Cole it is okay. When people come over he goes racing to Cole wanting to show him off...he is so proud of his younger brother even. He even wants to feed Cole and lifts up his shirt which we tell him all the time that only mommy can feed Cole. But, it is a major relief for me to see how sweet Davis to his little brother Cole. I mean come on it can't be easy being dethroned by another sibling!
So, we were brave yesterday and took both kids for a trip to Costco, let's just say at the end of the trip to Costco as we were checking out we had two crying kids and both of them with dirty diapers!!! Before to long we got both diapers changed, strapped the kids in the car and we were loaded up and on our way back home when I look over at Nick and said "Man that was stressful". Nick of course acts like he doesn't know what I am talking about. And as we were driving home all we hear in the back seat is silence. So, Nick takes a peek back there to see what is going on and both of them were peacefully sleeping. But, Davis feel asleep holding Cole's hand and held his hand the entire trip back home and we were even able to take a quick picture of it when we got home. When I saw them holding hands that saying popped through my head "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it". Did I ever need a reminder yesterday that the stress of raising children will one day be worth it!!
