Book Blog!!

Nick along with myself and our friends John and Angie created a book blog called High Five Book Club. We made it since we all enjoy reading and really for the fun of it!! Come check it out here if you are interested in what books we have read or are reading. We will be writing reviews on the books that we read or as John calls them "book reports". We may do some spoilers for the books since there are no websites to be found that have spoilers of the ending. You don' t want to miss out on this good time so come check us out!!

Score!!!

I went to Walmart today to pick up a few things. I went to the toy section with Davis and they had part of their toy section ripped apart and they were taking off their power wheel vehicles from display and had them all out in the isles. I overheard the walmart worker telling someone else that they were going to clearance out some of these power wheel vehicles that were on display because they were no longer going to carry them anymore. Anyway, to make a long story short the lady ended up buying 2 of the two seater vehicles, the only 2 that they had that were on display, so I figured that they were selling for a great deal so I was trying to hang around until she left. After she left I put Davis down and he immediately went to a F-150 truck and started climbing in it. It is not a 2 seater though but I asked the guy working what they were selling it for and the guy told me $50 bucks and I looked at the price tag and it was selling for $170 dollars and I said really "$50 bucks". I asked him what the lady bought the 2 seaters for and he said $100 bucks. So, anyway after letting Davis play in it for a little bit they loaded it up for me and I bought it!!

We are not giving it to Davis yet just because he got so many toys for his birthday and he really doesn't need another toy so we are hiding it in the garage until Christmas. Luckily, Davis feel asleep on the drive home and when he woke up he didn't remember anything about the truck. But, I am so excited because what a great deal that I scored!! I am also excited because my goal this year was to start shopping early for Christmas, especially with a baby coming around this time. Yay for me!! I tell you sometimes I HATE Walmart but other times I LOVE it!!!

Also, Nick is thrilled because at least someone in our family will be driving an F-150 Ford Truck!!

Ohhh....Butt!!!

Davis was following me around the house yesterday while I was cleaning up and he kept throwing a soft football at my back. I was telling him to stop but he thought that it was too funny to stop so he elected to keep throwing it at me. I really didn't care because it was such a soft football that I could barely feel it. I bent down to pick up some laundry and Davis throw the football at my bottom and I started to laugh and turned to look at him and he said "Ohhh.....Butt". Now I am a little disturbed because I am not really sure where he learned the word butt, I usually say bottom, when I am referring to that part of the body. It took me by surprise that I didn't know what to say or do all that I could do was laugh!!! It is crazy how fast they pick up words.

On a positive note Davis's trampoline came in yesterday. It took Nick all night to put the thing together and once Davis figured out what it was we had a very impatient 2 year old on our hands. He was crying non-stop because he wanted to get on it and jump on it even though Nick wasn't finished putting it together yet. I had to bring Davis in the house and try to distract him with something else while Nick was finishing up.....yeah, I was real successful with that!!! By the time Nick finished the trampoline it was dark outside and we turned our flood lights on outside and let Davis jump until his little heart was content. And this morning Davis remembered the trampoline and wanted to go outside immediately so since he really didn't get to jump on it that long last night I let him go out this morning before his breakfast and in his pj's and jump!!! I just wonder how long Davis will get tired of jumping on it by himself. Hopefully, he won't get tired of it for awhile.....

We are having a.....

Yesterday we had all of the family up for Davis's birthday party. It was a lot of fun!! Davis got tons of toys and I felt like it was Christmas for him. Yesterday he was spoiled rotten with all of the stuff he got!! It was nice to have family up at our house for a change and that we weren't the ones that didn't have to do the driving. Nick and I bought Davis a trampoline for his birthday and we had to order it from Walmart and of course it didn't get here in time for his party. I should have known not to order it from Walmart. But, it really didn't matter because he got so much other stuff anyway. He loved playing with his cousins and by the time everyone left Davis was exhausted and we still dragged him up to the outlet malls with John and Angie. It was quite the day we had yesterday!! When we got back home I was too exhausted to post anything!

But, I am sure that you guys don't want to hear about all of this. You just want to know the verdict of what we are having! Well, you guys split it right down the middle of the voting on the poll so I am not able to make fun of you if you were wrong or praise you if you were right. You guys did this to me on purpose I think.....Let me tell you the story first just so you know that when we were in the ultrasound I was trying to avoid looking down in that general area and the ultrasound tech was going to give us the heads up when she was looking in that area. I was trying to avoid looking down in that general area anyway just to make sure that I didn't see anything and right when I decide to take a little peek when the ultrasound tech was looking at something else the baby moved its leg and there it is was!! I took a gasp of air and my eyes were bulging out of my head and I turned to look at Nick and he was looking at me all confused. I was trying to mouth the words "I saw it, I know what it is" to him but he couldn't make it out what I was trying to say. So, finally I told him and the ultrasound tech that I saw it and she looked and sure enough I was right with what I saw!!! IT IS A BOY!!! We are having another BOY!!! The odds of when you are trying to let it be a surprise until the family comes up and you actually see it in the ultrasound, I must say I don't have a modest child at all!! But, we still waited until Saturday to tell the family which they were not happy about the fact that we knew and we were making them wait another day. I wanted to wait until after Davis's party to tell everyone but they were all acting like they were going to die if we didn't tell them soon. The majority of the family was wrong they all thought we were having a girl along with myself. I thought for sure it was a girl and Nick was the one that was right he said it was a boy!! But everything is looking great with the baby and that really to me is the most important part. I am measuring early still so tomorrow when I go back and see my doctor they are leaving it up to him about the due date. So, I guess we shall see what happens.

Cleaning Fiasco!!

So, I started this cleaning fiasco with my house this week and haven't been able to STOP and I think that it is causing me to go CRAZY!!! Even though I don't think that I am far from going crazy anyway. But cleaning is even coming up in my dreams I just can't seem to relax even while I sleep. I am not sure if it is because the whole family will be up on Saturday or if it is due to the fact that when I am pregnant I am a little emotionally unstable, I haven't been able to figure out which one it is.
I have scrubbed my kitchen from top to bottom, cabinets, doors, fridge, baseboards and even tore down the blinds and not only dusted them but wiped them clean. I reorganized our bookshelves in the office along with Davis's madness of toys everywhere, which I was very close to throwing half of them away. I again cleaned the windows on the inside as well as the outside throughout the entire house and dusted and cleaned every blind in our house. I reorganized my master bedroom closet and along with the coat closet that is downstairs. I made Nick help me start cleaning out the nursery which was a job in itself. Nick pitched in and did tons of yard work today which included mowing, edging, trimming, blowing the leaves and raking them up. I also asked Nick to organize the garage a little because it was driving me nuts. I have been doing laundry for what it feels like forever because I am washing everything I think needs washed beside the norm of just clothes, random blankets, pillows...etc.
Anyway, I am hoping that there is an end to this madness because I really don't want to be cleaning in my dreams anymore!!!

Come on VOTE!!!! Don't be a chicken....

Everyone is asking about when we find out what we are having. I am happy to report that on Friday is the BIG ultrasound and since there are so many that care about us..... Awww....
I thought that it would be fun to put a poll on the blog until Friday to see what you guys think we are having and then when you are wrong, I can point at you and make fun of you.....just playin'

But, I won't post about it until Saturday when the family is up here with us and
I won't tell you what we think that we are having because I don't want it to alter what you think it will be!!!

So come on VOTE....I need a little entertainment in my life!!!

Look to the left, you'll see the poll!

2 GREAT dates!!

What a day!! Two significant dates in one day for our family. It is our 6 year anniversary today as well as Davis's 2nd birthday. We were suppose to celebrate our anniversary yesterday but Nick is sick so I guess we will get around to celebrating it one day. We are celebrating Davis's birthday next Saturday so I will do a post then for his birthday. Maybe the weekend after next we will celebrate our anniversary.

It is hard to believe that Nick and I have been married for 6 years and been together for a little over 7 years. It all began in the wonderful state of Montana and how blessed I am that Erik Witbeck told Nick about coming out to West Yellowstone to work for the summer. So...thanks Erik!! I meet Nick shortly after moving back for the summer and little did I know that I would meet my husband that summer and my whole life would take a 180 degree turn. We went and took a day trip and hung out in Bozeman one day and Nick and Erik were looking for hiking boots. We went into a shoe store and Nick was acting like an annoying salesmen trying to sell me a pair of hiking boots....sounds just like Nick, huh? I was amazed at how funny Nick was and I couldn't stop laughing. So, of course I had to play a part as well and I started playing the part of a really mean and difficult costumer with Nick being an annoying salesmen......crazy young kids!! We haven't changed a bit. After that trip I knew that Nick was a type of guy that I was attracted to. To me he was perfect!! Also, Nick and I are both very competitive and I beat him in a game of basketball which was awesome and it made me like him even more!!! Some say it was just a summer fling but Nick and I both felt stronger feelings towards each other and knew it was more and that is how it all began.....

After being engaged for a loooonnnggg year. Our eternal family began on August 10th, 2002 at 10:00 am in the Atlanta Temple where we were sealed. I am sooo blessed to have Nick in my life. I love him very much. I never imagined ever being loved the way he loves me, and before I met him, I never knew I could love someone so much. When you get married you think of life and the love that you share as a fairy tale and little do you know. You don't realize the ups and downs you will face in life. But I am thankful for the experiences that Nick and I have faced together because I feel like through those we have grown even stronger together in our marriage. When you go through hard times together it helps you to remember how great the good times are!! I am very blessed to have such an amazing husband. He has given me so much in life and I am thankful that I am on this journey with him. We now have a son together and a baby on the way. If you ask me life can't get much better than this.
I love you Nick Bettes FOREVER!!!

Danger Zone.....

It has been sooo hot the past few weeks and being prego it is hard for me to get Davis out of the house some days especially in the heat. Davis has found other ways and things to preoccupy him during the day! Which I know the pictures are not too bad and the damage could have been worse but on this particular day I just cleaned up his room and left for just a few minutes to go fold some laundry and I came back and see this!! I mean this only took him a few mintues to get the room looking like this I could only imagine if I left him in there any longer what he would have done!!! I think that Davis needs to get out of the house or else I have a feeling he is going to go through the whole house and rip it apart like a tornado!!!
